Strong Middle Splits with Excellent Recovery Vidal Garcia showcased impressive pacing skills during the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Early on, his consistent split times of 5:56 from miles 2 to 3 were noteworthy, placing him 4th in his division (M35-39). Despite an initial slower start mile of 6:36, he gained momentum quickly. His overall final time was 1:22:17, averaging a pace of 6:16 min/mile which positioned him 11th in his division among 4421 participants. The middle section reflected a strong performance between miles 5 and 7, as he maintained a tight pace between 6:04 and 6:48 per mile. However, splits at miles 8 and 9 slightly increased to 7:14 and 6:16, respectively. Garcia demonstrated resilience by clocking a 5:56 again at mile 10, effectively regaining an effective pace through the latter part of the race. Strategically, focusing on sustaining that early pace could further elevate future performance.
