Consistent Improvement Through the Splits Alex Wisdom's performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest displayed a notable development over each mile segment. Starting with an initial split of 16:53 minutes per mile, Alex showed a marked improvement, advancing significantly in each subsequent mile. The most impressive gain was seen in the second mile with a 6:14 minute-per-mile pace, which was a remarkable reduction from the first split pace. By the final split, Alex maintained a steady pace of 10:41 minutes per mile. Overall, his Elapsed Pace for the 5K was 11:15 min/mile. The strategic pacing shift contributed to placing Alex 268th in the competitive M25-29 division and 1534th out of 6521 male participants. As a member of the On Run Club from Portland, Oregon, Alexs performance illustrated the potential for strong mid-race acceleration. Going forward, a focus on consistent pacing might further enhance overall race results.
