Consistent Start with Strategic Finish Matthew Chang displayed a solid performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, maintaining a consistent pace in the first half of the race. Notably, during the first three miles, his average pace hovered slightly above 10 minutes per mile, reaching a swift 9:46 pace in the second mile, which helped him advance significantly in the overall standings. By the end of five miles, he clocked in at 50:15, showcasing a commendable effort. As the race progressed, Matthew faced some challenges maintaining the initial pace. A standout moment was his impressive split at mile 9, where he achieved a strong 9:35 pace. Although the last mile presented a slowdown with a 16:12 split, his strategic pacing in earlier miles set a solid foundation, culminating in an overall elapsed time of 2:21:21.
