Starting at a 14:29 min/mile pace for the first mile, Alexanders strategic improvement was evident in the second mile with a substantial acceleration, achieving a 7:00 min/mile pace, one of the best splits of the race. This increase in speed allowed him to climb significantly in the rankings from 3541st place overall to an impressive 1576th by the second mile.
