Consistent Start with Opportunities for Mid-Race Adjustments Over the course of the Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, Irving maintained a strong and consistent pace for the first three miles, averaging approximately 8:50 min/mile. Notably, split 1 was completed in 8:52, with subsequent splits slightly faster at 8:49. These early splits positioned Irving well within his division, holding steady at 162nd place in the M30-34 category. As the race progressed, there was a discernible slowdown. Mile 6 registered a 10:06 split, leading to a rise in division rank to 239th place. Despite the increased pace in mile 9 at 9:19, challenges appeared in mile 11, with a 10:26 split. Irving finished strongly with an elapsed time of 2:04:01, placing 279th in his division out of a significant participant base. Future focus on mid-race pacing could further enhance placement and performance.
