Consistent Pacing with a Strong Start and Finish Marla Durant-Mcvean began the race confidently, maintaining a steady pace of 8:51 min/mile through the first three miles, which placed her 2nd in her division. She demonstrated notable consistency and only slightly decreased her pace, evidenced by a first half split of 1:07:05. This indicates strong endurance and effective pacing strategy. While the overall pace shifted from 8:51 min/mile to 9:53 min/mile over the course of the race, Marla exhibited resilience in the final miles. Her final split was 9:56 min/mile, showing she maintained integrity in her pace despite a mid-run slowdown. She finished strongly with a time of 2:09:27, placing 13th in her division out of 4421 participants. Focusing on maintaining her early pace could be an area to improve upon.
