Consistent Pacing with Strong Finish Keenan maintained a steady pace throughout most of the race, showcasing good pacing ability. Beginning with an encouraging 8:15 min/mile, and only occasionally exceeding this baseline during miles 2 and 6, he demonstrated strong control over his speed. Challenges emerged at mile 8 with a slight slowdown to 8:53 min/mile, yet Keenan quickly regained pace, ending the next mile at 7:57 min/mile. A highlight included his final mile, clocking in at a swift 7:14 min/mile, his fastest split, underscoring a strong finish. An impressive stat to note is how Keenans place fluctuated through the ranks, from 547th in the first mile to conclude 594th overall in the race of 4421 participants. This reflects on his enduring capabilities while maintaining strategic pacing over 13.1 miles. Continuing to work on maintaining faster splits in the middle distance could yield even better results in future races.
