Consistent Effort with Strong Finish Marco began the race with a solid pace of 6:41 min/mile, showing early strength. The first three miles were consistent, maintaining an elapsed pace under 7:00 min/mile with his early position starting at 81 overall. As the race progressed, his mile splits varied reaching a peak split pace of 8:39 min/mile at mile 8, before bouncing back with a strong finish of 6:37 min/mile in the final mile. This shows his ability to conserve energy for the end of the race. Maintaining a consistent average pace of 7:11 min/mile over the 13.1 miles, Marco finished the half marathon with an elapsed time of 1:34:18. Marco placed 34th in the M35-39 division, placing him ahead of many competitors. Continuing to work on maintaining or lowering the split times in the middle miles could be beneficial to achieve even better results in future races.
