Steady Acceleration and Positive Splits Andy Bracken demonstrated a strong performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest 5K, maintaining a progressively faster pace with each mile. He completed the first mile with a split pace of 6:38 min/mile, improving to 6:31 min/mile in the second mile, and finishing the third mile at an impressive 6:20 min/mile. This steady acceleration reflects strategically successful pacing, allowing Andy to move from placing 79th overall after the first mile to an overall finish of 61st out of 6,521 participants. As part of Team SeRUNo Peppers, Andy finished with an elapsed time of 20:05 for the 3.1-mile course, achieving an average pace of 6:28 min/mile. Notably, his strong second-mile split placed him 3rd in his division (M35-39) at that point in the race. Continuing to refine his pacing strategy in the last mile could potentially improve his division ranking to match the strong second-mile performance.
