Consistent Mid-Race Surge Highlights Performance Brian Bernier delivered a strong performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, laying a solid foundation with a steady beginning at a 7:15 min/mile pace, which rated him 192nd overall. He experienced a setback during the second mile with a slower split of 8:38 min/mile. Impressively, he regained momentum rapidly by the third mile, clocking his fastest split pace at 5:25 min/mile, elevating his position to 107th overall. This remarkable recovery showcased his ability to strategically adjust his race plan. Maintaining a consistent pace between 6:40 and 7:22 min/mile through miles 4 to 12, Brian demonstrated endurance and strategic pacing, successfully securing a competitive position in the M40-44 division, finishing 17th. With an overall time of 1:33:52 and an average pace of 7:09 min/mile, focusing on maintaining the higher positions achieved in the third and fourth miles could enhance future race outcomes.
