Strong Finish with Progressive Pace James Freed-Ramey showcased a commendable performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, representing Team Adidas NAM from Beaverton, OR. Throughout the race, he demonstrated a textbook example of negative splits with each mile improving in pace. Starting off with an initial mile pace of 11:02, James progressively increased his pace, recording a peak split pace of 6:16 in the final mile. His consistency is evident, as he maintained a tight range of paces between 7:11 and 7:29 min/mile from mile five onwards. Finishing with an overall time of 1:34:07, his performance placed him 194th overall out of 4421 participants, highlighting his strong field performance. James excelled in the Men's 35-39 division, finishing 30th. Notably, from mile three onwards, there was a significant improvement in his rankings, moving up from 282nd to 194th overall by race end. For future improvements, sustaining the initial pace and progression could lead to even more impressive race results.
