Solid Start and Determined Finish Austin Keever from Portland showcased a strong performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Starting with a solid 6:30 pace in the first mile, he was placed 51st overall. His steady pacing was evident with split times like 7:11 in the second mile. Although his pace gradually decreased, resulting in an 8:43 split during the 11th mile, Austin managed to maintain a consistent pace throughout the race, finishing with an overall elapsed time of 1:43:21. Austin's overall placement was 517th out of 4421 participants, with a 7:53 average pace per mile. Notably, he ranked 88th in his division (M25-29) by the race's end. As your coach, it's worth exploring strategies for pacing sustainable energy distribution throughout the race. By targeting consistency in pace, especially in the later miles, future races can see further improvement. Great job maintaining determination and perseverance all the way through!
