Consistent Mid-Race Pace with Strong Finish Paul Kress from Portland, OR, competed in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest presented by Toyota, delivering a steady performance throughout the half marathon. Initially pacing well with a 5:52 min/mile and maintaining sub-6:00 min/miles for much of the race, Paul showcased endurance and consistency. Notably, his average pace for the entire race was 5:59 min/mile. A brief slowdown appeared between miles 6 and 8 where times increased slightly, with mile 7 pacing at 6:27 min/mileindicating a minor area for improvement in mid-race stamina. However, an exceptional finish was demonstrated by a strong final push with the fastest split at mile 12, clocking in at 5:34 min/mile. This adjustment contributed to a solid final race time of 1:18:35. Throughout the race, Paul remained competitive, placing 7th in his division (M25-29) in a field of over 4,400 participants.
