Consistent Pace with Exceptional Mid-race Surge Steve Schubert, a 57-year-old from Portland, OR, ran in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, recording a final time of 1:53:25 and an average pace of 8:39 min/mile. Of particular note, at mile 3, Steve significantly increased his pace to 6:01 min/mile, improving his position from 1186th to 581st overalla prominent highlight of his race strategy. Despite the initial slower start with a 9:28 min/mile pace, Steve successfully maneuvered through the field with consistent improvements during the mid-race miles. Throughout the race, Steve managed to maintain consistent pacing with noticeable adjustments, such as mile 10's faster 8:13 min/mile which helped him stabilize his overall placement.
