Solid Start with a Powerful Finish Jose Mendoza, representing the Rose City Track Club, demonstrated a commendable performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Jose completed the 13.1-mile course in 1:39:20, with an overall pace of 7:35 minutes per mile. He showed early strength with consistently strong splits, particularly in the first 3 miles, maintaining a pace of around 7:15 per mile. Notably, Jose managed to improve his pace significantly in the final mile with a split time of 6:59, showcasing his strength towards the end of the race. Analyzing the splits, there was a slight decline in pace between miles 4 to 8, during which his times were slightly over 8 minutes per mile. However, he regained his momentum in the latter part of the race, reflected in the improved finishes in the last few miles. Continuing to work on maintaining mid-race speed could see even more impressive results in future events. Great effort, Jose!
