Consistent Performance with Impressive Pace Recovery Austin Slagle delivered a notable performance in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, completing the 13.1-mile course in 1:51:19 at an average pace of 8:29 min/mile. Starting strong with a 9:19 pace for the first mile, Austin demonstrated adaptability when pace dipped to 11:49 by mile two, but quickly recovered with a 3:25 pace in mile three. Mile four saw Austin maintaining strong mid-race consistency with splits between 8:31 and 8:45 min/mile, placing 889th overall and 158th in his division by mile ten. His later race splits improved, peaking at an 8:09 pace at mile 12. Austin's final position of 974th overall among 4,421 participants is commendable. The consistent pacing after mile three indicates excellent strategy and stamina. To build on this, focusing on maintaining early pacing could further enhance overall performance.
