Consistent Pace with Strong Finish Michael Whalen maintained a steady pace throughout the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest 5K. Starting with a 10:34 min/mile pace for the first mile, he adjusted slightly in the second mile to 11:31 min/mile, resulting in an elapsed time of 22:05. Impressively, Michael picked up his pace during the final mile to 11:16 min/mile, contributing to an overall pace of 11:03 min/mile and a total time of 34:16. Despite the progressive pace changes, Michael performed consistently well within his division, securing his position among the top 61 in the M45-49 category after the first two miles, ultimately finishing 112th in his division. Representing Portland, Oregon, and his team, Bob's Red Mill, his performance amidst 6,521 participants was commendable. Maintaining an even split could further benefit placement in future races.
