Steady Finish and Strong Second Half Surge John Cristurean from Troutdale, OR, delivered a consistent performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. His initial mile pace was 9:33 min/mile, gradually increasing as the race progressed. Notably, John maintained a consistent pace around 9:17 min/mile from the sixth to the ninth mile, demonstrating admirable steadiness. He clocked an impressive elapsed time of 1:56:37, finishing 1356th overall out of 4421 participants. A key highlight of Johns race was his disciplined acceleration toward the end. From mile 10 to the finish, he significantly improved his splits, with the final mile recorded at 8:02 min/mile, his fastest of the race. John was able to pick up the pace after miles 11 and 12, which he completed in 8:16 and 7:51 min/mile respectively. His strategic approach to the latter part of the race shows excellent potential in pacing strategy, especially in the Men's 20-24 division.
