Strong Mid-Race Comeback Kevin Pittan demonstrated impressive perseverance in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest 5K event. Starting with a slower first mile at an 11:29 min/mile pace placed him 2034th overall, but his determination evident as he surged ahead dramatically in the second mile, clocking in a split time of 4:22 min/mile, which significantly improved his standing to 169th overall. His placement in the M30-34 division also saw marked improvement in this mile, moving up to 25th place. Kevin maintained a consistent effort in the final mile, completing it in 8:07 min/mile and finishing with an overall pace of 7:57 min/mile. His final position was 378th out of 6521 participants, and 47th in the M30-34 division. Kevin's ability to pick up the pace after the first mile is commendable. For future races, focusing on keeping a more consistent pace from the start could enhance his overall performance.
