Pacing Fluctuations Yield Mixed Results Sydney Stapel showcased strong pacing during the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, maintaining consistent sub-8-minute miles for most of the race. Highlight splits included the third mile achieved at an impressive 5:38 min/mile pace, demonstrating her potential for sharp accelerations when necessary. This effort earned her first place in her division at the third mile split. While Sydney's overall place was 448th out of 4421 participants, she placed commendably in the F25-29 division, finishing in 7th position. Throughout the race, Sydney maintained a strong average pace of 7:45 min/mile, completing the race in 1:41:40. There was noticeable fluctuation in split times, notably between the first and second miles, which could be polished for more even pacing. Emphasis should be placed on sustaining the remarkable pace from the third mile throughout, which could enhance future performances.
