Impressive Mid-Race Surge and Strong Finish Grace Stratton from Portland, OR, participated in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest 5K Run. Her race pace demonstrated a strategic increase leading to an impressive placement in her division. Grace's first mile was clocked at a relaxed 12:45 min/mile, with overall positioning at 2798. By the second mile, she accelerated to a remarkable 4:42 min/mile, significantly improving her overall position to 407 and ranking 18th in her division. Maintaining consistency in the third mile, Grace noted an 8:19 min/mile split, finishing with an overall time of 26:30 and an average pace of 8:33 min/mile. She secured 130th among female participants and snagged the 23rd position in her F35-39 division. Her ability to sharply increase pace from mile one to two was a commendable strategic adjustment.
