Strong Start and Mid-Race Gains, Late Challenges in Race Katie maintained commendable pacing throughout most of her race, with noticeable improvements in her mile splits. Beginning with an 11:12 pace for the first mile, she progressively accelerated, achieving her fastest split at mile 12 with an 8:18 pace. This progression highlights strategic pacing, as she advanced from her initial division placement of 124 to 85 by mile 12, showing great adaptability and determination early and mid-race. However, the final split presented a significant challenge, with a notable increase in time and pace, diverging from her otherwise consistent performance. The last split time of 2:19:48 caused an overall finish time of 4:39:36. While this final leg impacted overall rankings, Katie's prior splits demonstrate potential for future races. Focusing on maintaining momentum through to the finish should be a priority in training. Excellent effort and race strategy in the initial stages, indicating strong potential.
