Promising Start but Need for Consistency in the Second Half Matt Gibbs from Forest Grove, OR displayed early momentum during the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Starting with a promising first mile at a 9:51 pace, Matt improved his pace significantly to achieve 9:19 in the second mile, placing impressively at 549th overall. This strong performance continued, with his fastest mile recorded at a 9:05 pace, reaching 257th overall, marking a commendable climb across the leaderboards. However, after mile 3, Matt's pace decelerated, with his overall elapsed time concluding at 2:14:35 and an average pace of 10:16 per mile. The later miles, particularly mile 8, showed a slowdown to a 11:46 pace. Matt's placement fluctuated, finishing 2497th out of 4421 total participants.
