Strong Start, Lessons for Consistent Pacing Marc opened the race at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest with impressive energy. His initial mile recorded at a pace of 8:58 min/mile. In the second mile, he picked up speed, achieving an 8:28 min/mile pace and notable positions: 154th overall and 16th in his division. The first four miles showed consistency as he maintained sub-8:30 paces, showing his capability to perform among the top positions in his division early on. However, the pacing faltered from mile 5 onwards, with times increasing beyond 9 minutes per mile. The most significant drop was between miles 7 and 8, which saw the pace slipping to 14:06 min/mile. Despite the challenges in the latter half, Marc completed the half marathon in 2:31:32, clocking an overall average pace of 11:34 min/mile. Future focus could be on sustaining early paces throughout the race for better position retention and overall consistency.
