Consistent Pace and Strong Division Win Matthew Spear demonstrated impressive pacing and consistent performance in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. With an overall time of 1:12:34 and an average pace of 5:32 min/mile, Matthew secured a 7th place finish overall out of 4,421 participants. Notably, he claimed the top spot in his division, M35-39. His splits showed a mix of strategic racing and stamina. The first mile began with a strong 5:28 pace, and an impressive surge to 4:11 for the third mile highlighted his ability to respond swiftly during the race. Throughout the latter half of the race, Matthew maintained a steady pace, holding between 5:25 and 5:35 min/mile. Although there was a slight dip in the 8th mile, he quickly recovered his rhythm, finishing the race strongly. By focusing on sustaining the pace during the middle sections, Matthew could further enhance his overall performance in future races. Great effort and a commendable division win!
